Travel Info Things to do or see in chicago during december??? Travel Tips for Christmas decor and lights...Navy Pier, Michigan Ave, State Street store windows, Lincoln Park Zoo-lights. Fun stuff. You can ice skate in Millenium park, see the Rockettes in Rosemont at the theater...other things to see...(check Ticketmaster)the Nutcracker Ballet and various orchestras playing holiday greats. You shop at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. Michigan Ave shops are good, but pricier. The outlet mall in Kenosha isn't far. Others The Christmas lights along Michigan Avenue are beautiful...take a stroll. The Lincoln Park Zoo does Christmas activities--I think their Web site is www.lincolnparkzoo.com, or do a Google search for it. Winter is a great time for indoor activities such as theatre (Steppenwolf, Goodman, other), opera (Lyric), concerts, and clubs. For listings of upcoming plays, shows, concerts, exhibits, etc., check out www.chicagoreader.com. If you're feeling touristy, maybe you'd like to take a horse-drawn carriage ride in Lincoln Park. Check out this website (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/).... On the left side of the page, you can put in the dates you are going to be here and see everything that is going on during that time. Simple... You could go see the bears and watch them get stomped. i dont know if you are into this but you should go see the broadway play Wicked...it is supposed to be very good...but buy your tickets way ahead of time. |
