What area(s) in the Chicago suburbs is nice to live at? |
Travel Info ..for a single female...safe area, with good access to public transportation Travel Tips If you want good access to public transit, I would stick with either Oak Park or Evanston. Both are on the main CTA lines instead of on the Metra commuter train, so you can get downtown easily. Others I live in the south suburbs- Orland Park, Tinely Park, Oak Forest all are very nice (somewhat expensive) but they have trains going to Chicago and have some busses that go around. I lived in the Chicago area for 35 yr. and never found it so I moved to WI I moved to Chicagoland a few years ago and recently left to return a little closer to home. I had a great apartment in Naperville that was close to the downtown Metra station. The city is ranked by Money Magazine as the #2 best place to live in the United States because of its very low crime rate, its great downtown entertainment district, and its convenient access to Chicago (Metra can get you to Union Station in 30-40 minutes on the express train). The only downside is the price - median home value is several hundred thousand dollars. But, if you look around enough, you can find a good place for a decent price. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/... Maybe Oak Lawn, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Worth, it really all depends on the $$$$$$$. Try the south western suberbs. I live in clarendon Hills but hinsdale and westmount r good 2. Thats where d 181 is(school) and its the best in the country |
