Anyone know a great road trip from Chicago for a 3 day weekend in winter?

I don't want to have to drive for more than 4 or 5 hours and I want to plan something romantic for my fiancee:)

Travel Tips
Grand Geneva resort in Wisconsin. It's a ski lodge/resort right off of Lake Geneva, only about 1.5 hours from Chicago.

what about going to starved rock lodge here in Utica Illinois they have alot of things to do and see and they have cabins you can rent and you can also stay in the lodge for more information on starved rock lodge visit their website www.starvedrocklodge.com and you can reserve your room on line if you would like

Door Country in WI has a bunch of nice B&Bs that offer good deals in the winter.
why would this guy above me say six flags? they are closed and even if they were open, who would be dumb enough to be riding rollercoasters when its like 20 degrees out.

anyhow, best place is to head up to the Wisconsin Dells and get a room at the Kalahari Resort. They have a really good indoor waterpark and highly suggest dinner at the kahunaville which is in the resort. theres also a movie theatre right there and a casino right down the street so theres plenty to do

have fun!
Its not really a road trip, but there is a Sybaris somewhere in the Chicago area. That would be very special and romantic, plus you wouldnt have to drive too far just in case the weather got nasty. You know how unpredictable these Chicago winters can be.
Sybaris is in Glenview I believe.

Galena.....2-1/2 hours from Chicago up i-90. Chestnut Mountain Inn....good prices, skiing, indoor pool. We used to go with my family every year for about 7 years. As an adult, I love it just as much. Good food in Galena, and shopping. Chestnut is just outside of town. Google it and check it out.

Utica and Starved Rock are also good.

Port Wasington, WI is a nice town on the lake. The Holiday Inn there overlooks the water, and they have hot tub suites too. Very quaint town....looks like New England, but it's really Wisconsin! It's not far from Racine and Cedarburg, WI. Cedarburg ahs a winery, and lots of cute shops if she is into that sort of thing.
