Others Staying home. Seriously, New Year's Eve is so overrated. Expensive, loud, a bunch of rude people. I went out last year (against my better judgement) and it was a lousy as I remember it. You can go to one of the expensive New Year's Eve parties, but you end up doing the same thing you'd do at home: toasting your significant other at midnight and giving him or her a kiss. So why not stay home? Get a bunch of close friends, tell stories, watch Dick Clark, drink without worrying about getting slammed by a drunk driver while crossing the street and do the countdown before crashing out in the comfort of your own bed. That going out stuff is usually disappointing. "Gee, I spent $200 on two tickets to this thing, heard a lousy band, managed to only get three drinks cause the freakin bar was so crowded and then left five minutes after midnight, couldn't get a cab because everyone else was there trying to get a cab too and had to pay $30 just to get home because of the traffic." Stay home. |
