Looking for a fun place for New Years Eve. Maybe a concert? |
Travel Info We went to the Umphries Megee concert last year, so not again this year. Thier will be about 6 or more people, mostly couples. Somewhere nice to eat also. We went to Dikas last year, so something like that. Also a nice hotel, with a sweet, and a good view. Travel Tips i would check out the house of blues. you can usually get packages for dinner and a concert, especially on new year's. this year is tragically hip and matisyahu. i would then get a room at the house of blues hotel. they have a great bar called the kaz bar, that should also have live music and since they are all right there, you don't have to worry about navigating the city. if you go anywhere else for a concert and want to stay downtown, check out united center and uic. they should have something going on. if you want dinner suggestions, then i would check out carmine's (italian), chop's, ruth chris', or smith and wollensky's (steak). for hotels, check out the hilton chicago, great view of grant park and the lake, the drake or the w (great view of the lake), sheraton (great view of the river). have fun and good luck. also, i would book soon, as prices continue to go up in chicago until the actual day of new year's. Others LAS VEGAS OR MY HOUSE Check the Chicago Reader (www.chicagoreader.com), Metromix (www.metromix.com) or Time Out Chicago (www.timeoutchicago.com). Between the three of those sites you should find just about everything going on in Chicago on New Year's Eve. As for hotels with sweet views, Try Michigan Ave and along the Gold Coast. It's going to be expensive though, especially since it's New Year's Eve. And they may be booked up already so get on the ball NOW. |
