New Year's in Chicago? |
Travel Info My boyfriend and I will be spending new year's in Chicago. I was googling and found "Nacional 27." It's a latin restaurant/salsa dancing place. Has anyone ever been here and can you tell me about it? We were thinking of spending New Year's Eve here. Also, please give me ideas of other places that may have some fun things to do on this night. We're from DC and it will be our 1st time Chicago and we are SUPER excited! Travel Tips Nactional 27 is a great restaurant/bar. You'll have a goodtime. Don't know about that ball drop thing that other guy was talking about. We don't do that here. But if you go to Navy Pier, they have fireworks. They also have a big party in the ballroom at the end of the pier (it's where the TV stations go for the big countdown). You can find Navy Pier on the web; they may have info about the party and available tickets. There's also the Signature Room at the top of the John Hancock building. Not sure if they have somethng special going on (usually you can just go to the bar and drink). But it overlooks the whole city and you can see the fireworks at Navy Pier from above. Finally, check the Metromix and Time Out Chicago websites. They'll have all the listings of clubs, bars, etc. and what they're doing for New Year's Eve. Others GO TO THE CORNERS OF STATE AND DEARBORN IN THE LOOP THAT IS WHERE THEY DROP THE BALL FROM THE WALGREENS ROOF AND ITS EASY TO GET THERE NOT LIKE NYC AND THE CLUB IS A SHORT TAXI RIDE AWAY INN THE NEAR NORTH Hi Lola We were in Chicago last December and it was -14 c but clear and crisp there is loads to do down town - just follow your nose and you'll have a great time Go to Schuba's Tavern and watch the Redwalls perform on New Year's Eve. |
