Cheap and safe hotel in chicago, schaumburg for a couple to stay for few initial days till rent an apartment?

Travel Tips
Going on the assumption that you are moving to the Schaumburg, NW suburban area:

There are Amerisuites Hotels in: Schaumburg, Itasca and Arlington Heights.

These are places with mini kitchens designed for your situation or longer stays. All 3 locations listed above are very safe. You will be safe at any location in Schaumburg.

You could also look to: http://www.chicagonorthwest.com/... for a very comprehensive list of accomodations in this area. That is the website of the Greater Woodfield Visitor and Convention Bureau. Source(s): I live and work in Schaumburg.

Other Travel Tips
Chicago and Shaumburg aren't exactly that close to one another and since I don't know where you are moving to, I'm guessing you want to save money since you are moving, right? I'd probably check for locations either near where you're moving from or to, then check on-line hotel rentals for special rates. Some hotels are actually cheaper then you'd think that way. As for safety just keep with major chains and you should be okay. Don't stay anywhere the name ends in "Arms" or has a sign saying "transients welcome." You may even want to consider a hostel, I think there used to be one on Ashland Ave. south of Belmont.
Used to live in Chicago.
I would recommend the Staybridge Suites motel (www.staybridge.com) in Schaumburg. I haven't stayed at this one yet, we will in a few weeks, but we've stayed in others around the country and they've all been very reasonable and loaded with amenities. I have a family of 6 and they are the only hotel that can accommodate all of us in one 2 room suite-usually for just over $100 a night. When you throw in the free breakfast and the free dinner "snacks" like chicken wings or similar, served on weekdays, it's worth the money. They have cute little fully equipped kitchens, which I've used to cook meals for everybody.
The place is very secure, clean and the best deal around. Check them out.
I live in Schaumburg, you can stay with me :) lol
