Travel Info How far is new york from chicago in miles? can i take a bus, train, plane? whats cheapest? Travel Tips Christina, Hi I have a friend in the states that offers having a most wonderful travel site that I would like to offer you. It is a little known fact that the base prices for travel are set by the vendor. Only makes sense, Right? Well this one offers you options and choices that you just don't get anywhere else. Including a meet or beat policy on price. It will even revert for you to search out whoever has the best deal on prenegotiated travel packages. Source(s): cruiselineamerica.travelwize. com Other Travel Tips Its only 1400 mm on the map walk it! Bus and train will take ridiculously long. A train will be slighter faster than a bus, but train fare will be probably as much as a cheap coach flight. The cheapest is definitely bus, but it will probably take a whole day. Bus trips more than one day suck. It is the worst experience you will ever have, and it isn't all that much cheaper. If they are short trips trains are ok. Personally I'll shell out the money to fly to avoid having to take a bus or train anywhere. 730 air miles between cities. Bus is a joke. Train would take for even and actually be more expensive then most flights. Flying is the way to go. The flights are very well prices and only take about 2 hours in the air. Unlike the 16-18 for train or god knows for bus. I actually just booked a flight, round trip from Newark, NJ to Chicago O'Hare. Total cost was $116.64. Not bad at all. Like a previous poster said, the flight time is only a couple hours, so it's not a bad trip. A long bus ride (esp in the winter when weather can be unpredictable) is REALLY taxing on your physical self. Train may also take some additional time - Amtrak has some options, but the SHORTEST journey will take you at LEAST 18 hours - and some of those include stopovers and train changes in other cities. Their fares range from about $80 to $130. Pretty comparable to flying, if you ask me. I'd fly. But that's just me. Less wait time, and the fares, like I said, are pretty similar. As for bussing it in the winter...don't even want to go there. :o) (By the way, if you're interested, my $116 RT airfare was through United. I did book it through my travel agency here at work, and it's for Feb, but I'm sure that you'll be able to get something comparable....) |
