Travel Info Does the Metra in Chicago, have a Line that goes to Rockford? Travel Tips No, the closest it gets is Harvard. Amtrak goes from Union Station to Rockford but does it on a bus! Rt 8969. It's a 130 min ride. Check out their site: http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/contentser... Others no they don't. I had a friend that would take the Metra to Harvard station and then connect with Amtrak. She also took a bus one time, but I'm not sure how she did it.
