Riding Stables in Chicago Area? |
Travel Info I asked this question once before but the answers were only kind of so-so... Thanks for all the help in the past, but I didn't have any great answers. I'm an experienced rider who has been out of the saddle for a few years. I've lived in Chicago about two years now, and am ready to start riding again. But I don't have a car, and must reply on public transportation. I am willing to take the CTA, Metra, buses... Even walk a mile or two if I must. I just need to find a stable that I can access without having to drive to it. I'm willing to go into the suburbs, if I can easily get to and from. Any ideas? :D Travel Tips That's a hard one.. most of the stables are out in the country, so it will be difficult to find one that you can get to on public transport. I found a list of riding places in the Chicago area, maybe you can call each of them and ask if you can reach them on public transportation unless you get a better answer from someone. Sorry :( http://yellowpages.aol.com/pets/horsebac... I also find an online forum for horseback riders in the Chicago area... maybe you could post on there and someone would be able to help you better? http://chicago.about.com/gi/dynamic/offs... Good luck! Others There's at least one, way up Milwaukee in either Buffalo Grove or Glenview. Theres probably also one near the synagogue in Glenview; my wife and I have seen people riding in the park nearby. |
