What style of clothes do male professionals in Chicago wear in cold, snowy weather? |
Travel Info I'm visiting for business, and also to explore the neighborhoods next weekend. Travel Tips A warm turtleneck or mock turtle under a sports coat is just fine. Lots of wool and flannel is mightily suggested. Don't forget your scarf for when the winds are blowing in your face. If you're anywhere within 10 blocks of the lake, the wind in your face will keep you from breathing. Trust me. Source(s): 10 years at Loyola and Northwestern. Other Travel Tips Most professionals dress in a business casual mode. A 3 button shirt that is collared and some kaki's. Others wear a suit and tie. Topcoat, overcoat or raincoat with a lining. While in the neighborhoods a parka will fit in. Simple. Overcoat, hat (preferably a knit hat that you can pull down or something with earflaps, scarf, gloves. when you're on a business call, you can wear a suit underneath; when you're just exploring, wear whatever you want but you may want to go with heavier-material pants (denim, corduroy, etc.). as far as shoes, it depends on the weather. If there's snow, boots of course. but other than that, regular shoes, even gym shoes will be fine. People here expect you to be bundled up when it's freezing, even when doing business as a 13 year old, i wear a hoody and a huge coat Suits to work. Comfortable clothes for just going around. Jeans and a warm jacket maybe. |
