I have to go from O'Hare to the Hilton at 720 S Michigan Ave, how do I get there? |
Travel Info I'd like to do as much as possible on an underground train. Is this correct: Blue from O'Hare to Washington, then transfer underground to Red from Washington to Harrison and then walk a few blocks. Travel Tips Here's a map of the CTA system (mass transit in the Chicago area). It'll help you find the best way to get there. http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/syste... Of course, the "L" train is called that because it's "elevated", not underground. It does start underground at O'Hare and has a few other sections that are underground, but all of it is above ground in the downtown area. Good luck! Others sure, the train will take you, but not much of it is underground. Take the blue line train from O'Hare downtown and get off at the Jackson stop. Walk to the underground passageway (ask somebody) and go to the Red Line tracks. Take the southbound Red Line train to Harrison (I believe it's the very next stop) and walk up stairs and out of the subway. Walk east to Michigan and then south to the hotel. if you're not sure you're going on the right train or walking in the right direction, ask somebody. The blue line train from O'Hare starts above ground and eventually goes underground. The section of red line train you'll be taking is all underground. But the red line train has both underground and aboveground sections. All the other train lines are above ground. Yes, you can take the "L". When your on the blue line the train will announce it over the p.a. transfere to cta redline. The blue and red lines are underground in downtown. Have a great time. Hi...Call the RTA...There direct number is 1-773-836-7000..press 0 and speak to someone from Customer service...Tell them the same question you just asked us..Someone there should be able to help you..Just tell them where your coming from to where you want to go..They will tell you how to get there and how long it will take..Hope this help you. Your directions are correct, with one exception. The Washington red line station is closed for renovations, so you must transfer at Jackson rather than Washington. It will take you about 45 minutes to get from O'Hare downtown. When you get off the blue line at Jackson, walk toward the front of the train. There is a free well-lighted underground tunnel connecting the red and blue lines there. You walk one block (between State and Dearborn streets) to the red line. You'll ride one stop south to Harrison. The Harrison station is in the subway beneath State Street, two blocks west of Michigan. Walk east on Harrison to Michigan, and turn left. Your hotel should be right there, on the west side of the street. The neighborhood around Harrison station is not the best (once quite seedy, but rapidly gentrifying), but it's a very short walk. Have you heard of Yellow Cab? |
