Help me find a weekend getaway?

My husband and I are looking for a casino resort, that we can go away for a couple days, that may have some kind of show, nice dinner, and is within 1 - 2 hours of Joliet, IL. Does anyone know of any besides Harrahs or Empress?

Have you considered the Indiana casinos? Many of them are right over the border.

I'm a big fan of the Horseshoe for the gambling -- and the seafood buffet on the weekend is killer. It's not really a resort though more like a day trip.

The Blue Chip is more like what you are looking for but is a little farther away. HOWEVER they have a hotel, entertainment, restaurants and the best part is that they are near a fun outlet mall (Lighthouse Place) that you can visit if you get lucky at the tables!

Somwhere close, inexpensive (so you have more to spend) and you know that you are going to have fun being there.
Save you money, here is what you do. Isolate yourself in your living room, put newpaper on the windows and tell everybody you are away for the week.

You will need about 20 boxes of twinkies, and some good dvd porn.

Let your body turn to squaler and your mind will follow. A weekend away is all in the mind.

Elgin has the Grand VIctoria Casino Boat. I don't know if they have a show. Milwaukee, Wisconsin has the Pottowatomi Casino. I don't know what they have there.
