Need advice...maybe moving to Chicago?

Travel Info
I may be moving to Chicago soon for a new job. The job would be located near O'Hare Airport, so I'd like to know about some of the best neighborhoods in that area (or fairly short commute) that are fairly safe in terms of crime, and aren't overly expensive. I know Chicago is more expensive than Cleveland....I have a very nice 2 bedroom apt. that I only pay $745/month for here, and I'd like to try and not go much over that in Chicago if I can....I'll be making slightly more money, so I could go a little higher in price if I have to in order to be in a nice, safe area. Thanks for any advice!

Travel Tips
Des Plaines also has some nice areas. And it basically has the airport in it's backyard. Itasca & Schaumburg & Bensenville are nice also as stated in an earlier answer. Maybe try looking for the Northern Suburbs a bit. Traffic is usually heading toward the North in the morning (the commuters), so if you are heading south then you should be ok. If you would like a really nice area that is a bit more expensive, try Park Ridge. I grew up in Elmhusrt which is pretty close to the airport. But it can be a bit more expensive also. It is a real nice area. Right next to Bensenville.

Your last comment - Ohare is not really that close to the 'Downtown' area. So if your coming that way you are probably going to be in traffic and the commute will not be a short one.

Others
Check out Rolling Meadows or Bensonville. Both are near O'Hare and both decent places.
As far as price goes, most places are over priced. The good news is that there is tons of public transportation (the Metra) and you migth be able to take a train to work.
Well I live in Wallace and it's close to 35 street I live only a few miles away from Chicago I go to The city alot mostly I got every month to go shopping
schaumburg, hanover park, streamwood aren't too far. itasca is nice.
