Travel Info Going to chigago for 7 days with 4 children what should we look out for? Travel Tips Hmmm..."look out for." I would advise that you should, "Look-out for yourselves." This is the "Big City" for sure. Things can get dangerous if you put yourselves in a bad situation. In general,Chgo is not a dangerous place but there are high crime areas. Fortunately, there aren't too many typical tourist attractions in any of them. Know where you are going. Get a street map and find your destinations. Chgo is a very easy city to navigate. People are friendly and willing to help-out. The best neighborhoods are closer to the lake and Loop. Prices are not cheap. Be prepared to spend more than expected. Remember, this is the "Big City!" Rents, fuel, and services are high so everyone pays more. Definetly, look-out for potholes. They are soon to appear in the streets. They can swallow a car wheel or ankle with no warning...no joke! Beware of pigeons. They're sort of cute when fools feed them to make huge flocks on the ground but they can bomb you when in flight. Homeless abound in some areas...just keep walking. Others al capone excellent food- get the deep dish pizza. watch your car and how people drive- they do not use signals when turning and switching lanes Chicago native gangs Brrrrr! Warm coats. Big lake! Take a nice warm bus tour of the city... peace stick to the downtown area or the immediate northside for the best chicago experience. the southside is where im from and it can get a little dicey in places. |
