Lincoln park or wrigleyville to gary, indiana? |
Travel Info how far would the drive be from lincoln park or wrigleyville in chicago to gary indiana (gary works)??? would it be all traffic or scenic (i would probably work m-f from like 7 am to 3pm... Travel Tips Reverse commuting is generally worse that commuting in Chicago, but you've picked a slightly better direction. It's ~ 35 miles and you would beat traffic in the AM, so 45 minutes. In the afternoon, I don't think you really will beat traffic, so probably 1 hour. You will be in traffic the entire time, but it should move well. Also, you'll pay ~$3.00 in tolls each way for the Skyway and the Indiana Tollway. Others Not quite as bad as you might think. The Dan Ryan interstate, which goes to Indiana, is pretty open outbound in the morning and inbound in the evening due to the reverse commute. That would be especially so around 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - the traffic would not have built yet. So it'd probably be a 40 minute drive either way. You could save some time by living further south in Chicago, like the South Loop - the stretch that might actually take you some time would be Lake Shore Drive down to I-55 and to the Dan Ryan interchange - although admittedly rather scenic in the morning, what with the lake and buildings. |
