Travel Info Where is the best place to rent an apartment with a new family in south side chicago under 1000 a month? Travel Tips this is how I found my apartment on chicago's south side which I love. I believe you should check out different neighborhoods yourself for a while then decide. Source(s): http://www.rent.com/ Other Travel Tips The South side of Chicago is no place for children. You probably can only rent a slum there anyway. Zandelia doesn't know what she's talking about. I would first look for a good school for your kids and then see what apartments are available in that immediate area. For example, Ray Elementary School in Hyde Park has a great reputation, but there may be others that are just as good or better. It depends you can find something reasonable for 1,000. Like the persona above me said, Hyde Park is nice, you can also try around Midway airport. If your going to go south, I would do anything south of Pulaski. Well, as others have mentioned, Hyde Park is nice. But also look around the area of 35th and King drive, not too far from the lake. The area, near the Lake Meadows condos, is undergoing a big rennovation and there are some nice new buildings going up. Also there are some decent places in the South Shore neighborhood. Again, lots of rennovation and rehab going on there as well... Not all south side is a slum. The midway airport area is a rumbling area, that you might be able to find an apartment for under 1000. You could also try the south suburbs such as chicago ridge. |
