How do I get from the Chicago Amtrak station to Ohare Airport? |
Travel Info How do I get from the Chicago Amtrak station to Ohare Airport? Travel Tips You could take the Metra, but the CTA Blue line could be a better option if you don't mind walking a few blocks to the CTA station. The Metra goes near O'Hare, but then you have to take a shuttle bus. The CTA will take you directly there, and it is cheaper (the trains are not as nice as the Metra trains) and runs more frequently. CTA trains come several times per hour, and the Metra runs only every few hours. Also there is no Metra to O'Hare on weekends! So there might not be a Metra train when you need one. http://www.metrarail.com/sched/ncs/ncs_w... Check out this web site for CTA information, using Union Station as your starting location, and O'Hare as your destination. You can enter the date and time you plan to travel. http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/... Others Switch to Metra right at the station and take Metra directly to ORD. Taxi, Limo, Bicycle, Walk.. www.metrarail.com I recommend taking the CTA Blue Line instead of Metra. It's about a four block walk from Union Station to the nearest Blue Line stop. The O'Hare Blue Line branch goes directly to O'Hare. Plus, it is probably cheaper. There are CTA buses that you can take from Union Station to the Loop, but the walk should only be about 10 minutes. CTA Blue Line is the cheapest, safest and quickest way to O'hare. Metra doesn't take you directly to O'hare. |
