Effingham,IL.?

I am thinking about moving from Chicago, IL. to Effingham, IL. can anyone give me info. about this city, ex. employment, gay/lesbian nightlife, schools, etc...
Currently I am a transportation operator for mass transit is there anything like this there?
What is the cost of living there?

Travel Tips

I've been there three times during Sept for Corvette meets. It is a medium-sized small town with not much to do. It looked like people lived in low income but nice houses. Effingham is surrounded by thousands of acres of corn and soybeans. I don't know about the gay/lesbian nightlife but I doubt if the rednecks tolerate any such "outlandish" places. There is a public transportation bus system.

Take a weekend trip and check it out.

There is a place to eat that is really good. It's the the
Effing Steakhoues. Everything is there.
You can order a big Effing steak with some Effing potatoes and veggies. Along with a tall Effing glass of Coka Cola to go with it all.
Effing breakfast, lunch and a big Effing dinner at great Effing prices.
