What is the best Chicago Saint Patrick's Day celebration? |
Travel Info Which one is better, the festivities downtown or on the south side, and why? Travel Tips South Side Irish! I love the St. Pat's parade downtown and dyeing the river green (well, more than it already is!), but nothing beats the festivites at the bars and festivals of the South Side. There are a ton of Irish people on the South Side, and they love to party! Others where the chicago river is dyed downtown! cuz thats where the people are! the river is dyed and not only that....its great to be around alot of people celebrating the same- compared to southside which sux...and i live here so bla south side is soo much better. better crwod, little crazier, more relaxed, lots of bars right there. police are cool. Unless you appreciate amature drinking fiascos don't go anywhere near the Loop parade. Stay away. Check out the SouthSide parade instead. Better yet, go to a family-friendly catholic church party, even if you're just by yourself and you're not even catholic. south side, for sure. Havent been but I heard the south side was better ....I guess the real Irish who live down there celebrate better the the band wagon wannabees.... |
