Visiting Chicago?? |
Travel Info We'd like to take a day trip to Chicago this spring with the kids(19,17,15,&14)We live in Wisconsin and will probably take the commuter train down. We only have the day so tell me what we should see & do.....Thanks Travel Tips It depends what you like to do. If you want to stick to museums, Science and industry is good, but kind of far off from the downtown area. Since you only have a day and to stick to the train. Stay downtown. the museum campus - Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and Field Museum are good places to start. Then you can work your way north and hit Grant Park, Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and Art Institute...Of course you can try to fit in Shopping on Michigan Avenue. Others Museum of Science & Industry. The Shedd Aquarium. after bootcamp my mom and i went to the navy pier and that was fun i dont know much about chicago but i liked the navy pier go by and look at the navy bootcamp you hop on a train and its a short like 20 minute ride Among my favorite plans for out of towners are lakefront activities including Navy Pier and the Chicago Architectural Foundation cruise on the Chicago River. The Aquarium and Planetarium sky show are also cool. Of course, a walk on Michigan Avenue is a shopper's dream. There are fabulous restaurants of all sorts. Metromix and Citysearch Chicago are good resources about the city. Lifelong resident visit a zooo or a museum here. go to downtown areas as well. See the sights is what I am saying. There's so much to do, it's unreal. I really don't like Navy Pier. Santa Monica Pier is better. Even my 10 yr old cousin hated Navy Pier when she came to visit. I like the Art Insitute, but I'm not sure the kids would. Shedd Aquarium is amazing. Brookfield Zoo. Michigan Ave if you like to shop. Museum of Science and Industry. Grant Park to see Buckingham Fountain. Go to the top of the Hancock. It has a better view than the Sears Tower. Hope that helped some. |
