Travel Info I'm planning a trip!!! ;) Travel Tips Chicago is an awesome place to visit. I was just there in February. I stayed at the Homewood Suites downtown. Perfect place as it is across the street from Rock Bottom Microbrewery, so if you want to stumble home you can. Also check out the Piece Brewery, the beer is great, but the Pizza is award winning and out of this world. So many good things I know and can say about Chicago. Go for it.Yes. It's a great city. I've lived nearby all my life and take it for granted but there is so much to do. A few things you might not think to do but are really worth it: Take an archetecual boat tour on the Chicago river (tickets at Navy Pier). It's fascinating. It points out land marks and gives a better view of some than you'd get on the street. It gives a lot of history including the Chicago Fire. The Chicago Ghost tours are also fascinating historical interesting and creepy! Take a night ride on the many horse drawn carriages, especially at Christmas time. Again, many landmarks and history will be pointed out. It's a pretty way to see the water tower lit up at night. Brookfield zoo is really nice too. I could go on. Check out Fodor or Frommes guides on line. (might not be spelled right) Absolutely. Chicago has world class museums. The lakefront is spectacular. Chicago has some of the best food in the world starting with deep dish pizza, cheesecake and frango mints. It has great music. It has some of the most beautiful buildings in the world! Make sure to take an architectural river trip! You will NOT be disappointed. Great restarants,clubs,awesome people and much more. You could see Lake Michigan and the Seares Tower! Wherever you go have fun, but you will love it in Chicago!!!! Jusutin Timberlake is coming on March 13 for a concert,come and see it!! Absolutely. Train arrivals should wait for rolling stock to stop at spur lines as the central yards have Railroads Bulls. Most of the city camping traditional opportunities are taken or too prone to police patrol but the recent vogue in building facade climbing has opened vast areas of rooftop for your temporary residence. Leaking water towers are excellent for bathing and potable resources. Roof flues warm clever tenting and tin supper plates of freshly snared city pigeon. Enjoy. |
