Blue line from lasalle street station to o'hare, how long's the trip? |
Travel Info Riding on the CTA, what is the travel time for Saturday service from the Lasalle Street Train station to O'Hare riding the Blue line and how often do the trains run on Saturday? Thanx Travel Tips Around 30 min. Check the following CTA site for train times: http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/rail/... Others I've taken that trip before I'd say about 1/2 hour. If it were me making this trip, I would allow much more than half an hour. On Saturday you can wait longer than that just to get a train. I say an hour to be sure. Probably 40 minues. Go to transitchicago.com to plan your trip for accurate timing though. If you're talking about the blue line and travelling on a Saturday, give yourself at LEAST an hour. What used to be a 40-45 minute trip is now considerably longer. The blue line is notorious for delays, slow zones for construction, etc. And since the CTA tries to do most of its work on the lines at night and on weekends, you can bet that the ride will be hit with delays. As far as the regularity of the runs on Saturday, not sure, but I'd expect to wait at least 10 minutes or more between trains. And as far as relying on the CTA website for travel times, one word: DON'T. I've lived here all my life and ridden the buses and trains since I was in fourth grade. The idea of the CTA putting up bus/train schedule is a joke. They get there when they get there. You can wait for a bus for a half hour and then all of a sudden three will show up all traveling the same route. Or your train ride can suddenly be interrupted by a fire on the tracks which backs up the whole line. Or there's some drunk guy on the train and they have to wait for the police to come and get him off. The schedule is more of a CTA "ideal world" scenario than a reliable source of information. Just an FYI - the CTA is doing a major rejuvenation of the Blue Line and and there have been LONG delays. Give yourself AN EXTRA HOUR (seriously). |
