Last year I stayed at the Hotel Monaco on Wabash, what a wonderful experience!! I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this is by far one of the best. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the service was top rate all the way. I would return to this hotel any day. I really loved that the rooms didn't look at all like a hotel, they have fun decor that makes staying in for room service a treat. Every evening there is free wine in the lobby and a fun game or entertainment theme, they did palm reading one of the nights while we were there. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice and not over priced. Being on Wabash it was close to the museums and some really great shopping, if you need anything the concierge desk can help you find it. Palmer House Hilton
The Drake Hotel is really elegant. It's where Presidents and Royalty stay when they are here. Its right by the lake.
Sofitel, W on Lakeshore, Four Seasons. There are a lot! Stay either on Lakeshore Drive or Michigan Avenue. The Palmer House is nice, too.
It depends on how much $ you want to spend...if $ is not a concern then go with the Peninsula Hotel...it is by far the best!
The House of Blues is nice and has interesting decor as well.
Also, look into the Swissotel and the W Lakeshore is nice as well.
Peninsula hotel...spacious rooms and 5 star service..
