Where is the best place to stay for a weekend series at Wrigley Field? |
Travel Info Looking for somewhere between Wrigley and Navy Pier. Also, when I say "best" I don't necessarily mean the most expensive, or the one with the best reputation, but one that provides a decent value, a clean room, and a great location. Travel Tips Try the Days Inn over on Diversey and Clark street. It's walking distance from Wrigley Field (well, about six or seven blocks, but it's a nice walk on a good day). The area has a lot of shops and bars and the hotel is always busy. In fact, a lot of touring rock bands stay there when they're playing at bars in the Wrigleyville area. It's pretty busy, as i said, so try to make those reservations now. The Drake is classy upscale much lower priced than the ritz carlton and the penininsula. But you can't beat the Four Seasons Chicago, one of the nicest hotels in the world...its so choice. I would stay downtown and take the red line to Wrigley Field. Taking the "el" will cost you $1.75/person each way but it drops you off right next to Wrigley Field and you can easily get on the red line downtown. As for hotels I would look at the Hyatt on Wacker (near Michigan Ave and the river). It is usually rather cheap but still a nice hotel and within walking distance on Navy Pier, the redline, and shopping, and good food.
