Visiting Chicago this weekend -- what are some fun things we can do (clubs, restaurants, etc)? |
Travel Info We are staying on N Michigan Ave. We are 2 young women who love the nightlife (over the top clubs and bars) , live music, good food and anything that can hold our attention longer than 15 minutes. We have never visited before. Just want to know what clubs would be good at night and what we should check out during the day. Please do not tell us to go to metromix.com, we have already visited that site and it doesnt really help. I want some actual advice from people who live in Chicago. Thanks! Travel Tips I live in Chicago..Lucky you! U have to go hit the strip on Rush st. and Division st. This is the spot to be for sure!! Hit every night club on division until u get to rush st..then head south. I fear that it will be a little chilly this weekend and you may not see what Chicago is really like when it's warm. Bars that are a must...Dicks last resort, Excalibor, and if u love salsa Mejor De Cuba..omg..Salsa dancing is ohh soo sooo sexy!! http://www.chicagotraveler.com/nightlife... http://chicago.citysearch.com/?brand=smx... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article... I added a few links that I hope will help you girls. If ya have anymore questions..don't hesitate to e-mail dapainterdude@hotmail.com or Instan message me on yahoo messenger at xxdapoolplayaxx Others I would definitely see who's playing at House of Blues the week/weekend you're here - it's a great place to see live shows. As far as dance clubs: Crobar, VooDoo... maybe check out http://chicago.nightclubs.com/ I just went to that site and it seems ok. Otherwise try a search on Yahoo: "chicago dance clubs" or something similar. ("dance clubs in chicago") To have a great brunch with a great sight of the city go to "The Signature". A restaurant that is on the top floor of the Hancock Building. Also, "The Green Dolphin" is a very fancy restaurant and they play live music. I recomend "Sound Bar" it has 2 floors, one for hip hop, the other one for techno music. Crobar is also one of my other fave clubs. Also, try the best Tappas restaurant of Chicago "Cafe Iberico" this restaurant it's really cheap and has great spanish food and don't forget the sangria. Just try to be really early on the weekends cuz it gets really crowded. I don't know when you're going but if you go when it's not cold you should walk around Millenium park during a very sunny day and take a pic of the huge silver bean lol. Go to Navy Pier and take a tour on one of the boats that go out every 15 min. If you wanna be bar hoppin go to Rush street. You'll find lots of cool bars like "Plush", "Buzz", "Coyote Ugly" and "National 32". If you wanna get out of the city I love Naperville, it's a great suburb with lots of bars and restaurants. When I go there I go to Bar Louie and Features. If you want to dance salsa go to Frankie's which is next door. If you want some history tours I totally recomend the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum Finally, if it's sunny outside, enjoy the beach! Lake Michigan is awesome. These are the places I visited every once in a while when I lived in Chicago. Good luck! Enjoy it! Lived in Chicago for 6 years n loved it! make sure you go to the navy pier. www.metromix.com has all the information you need Shadow Bar, it's on lake. it don't have live music, but it's what happening |
