Is the Dan Ryan (I-94) still closed (or under construction) in Chicago? |
Travel Info I'm trying to get from Grand Rapids to Loyola's Lake Shore campus. I heard the Dan Ryan is closed. What's the best way to go? Anyone that can give good directions would be appreciated. Also, if you know how long the commute takes I'd really like to know. Thanks!! Travel Tips The Dyan Ryan is open only the local lanes are closed and some ramps. It can be hellish at rush hour times but it eventually opens up and flows. before you leave visit www.dot.state.il.us/search and they can tell you exactly whats closed and open and maybe where to reroute if needed. Sorry can't help you with the distance and time of the commute. good luck Source(s): www.dot.state.il.us/search Other Travel Tips The Dan Ryan isn't close, just under construction. Some ramps have been closed & in certain areas there's only 2 lanes. It's not closed, it's just undergoing a major arterial bypass. Several outbound and inbound ramps are closed. You can use it - it'll just take a little longer than usual. If you have to bypass it, take the I-94 route to Stony Island, up to 67th and then cut east to Lake Shore Drive. But I'd just use it, and deal with the inevitable traffic (it'll take you about 45 minutes to get from 95th to the Loop instead of the usual 25 or 30.) |
