Yes it is. I live in Chicago, and I've visited LA. There are a lot of museums, sport clubs, bars, restaurants. The public transportation works. There are plenty of cabs. I think that you will enjoy it. Try coming down during the summer.

Yes, it's much nicer to visit compared to Los Angeles - much less pollution and it's possible to use public transit very easily compared to LA. There are many things to do too.
I've visited Chicago once and I thought it was pretty cool. I guess it depends on what your personal style is though.
I don't like big cities, but I liked Chicago.
Chicago is allot nicer looking than L.A. Plus Chicago offers so many things to do. I have never been to L.A but I love Chicago.
