Anyone know of a Midwest wknd/ religious Retreat Facility within 4 hr radius of Chicago? |
Travel Info Women's group of 50 or more. Looking for modern facilities with indoor plumbing, meals, and meeting space included. Thanks to all, & God Bless. Cass Travel Tips I went on a woman's retreat with my church to Camp Ronora, it's less than 2 hours from Chicago. It was WONDERFUL!!! They cook incredible meals, and they can accomodate a group your size with no problem. There are little cabins with indoor plumbing, and there is also the option for camping if you want to. They have a main hall where meals are served, and meetings can be held. I would recommend it to anyone! Source(s): http://www.ronora.org/ Other Travel Tips I dont know of a retreat facilitiy. But, I would like to sudgest something. Its a Chruch in Munster Indiana, its about an hour away from Chicago. They have a play called "The passion play", every year around Easter time. Its not a cheap play. Its excellent, and lots of people get saved when they go. If u can do a retreat at this time. It would be nice to take a busload, and go see this wonderful play. http://www.familychristiancenter.org/spj... This is the Church's website, the play is also called "Jesus of Nazareth"----Maybe u can make a weekend out of it, u know stay out there and stuff. Sorry I coulnt help you anymore. -Good luck and God bless. What about a hotel? I've run into large groups at places like Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. As a matter of fact the last time I was there there was a huge group of middle-school aged cheerleader girls and a huge group of ladies from a sorority (not AKA, but a similar one). Per their web site they have 45 meeting rooms of various sizes totalling over 100,000 SF of meeting space. I went there for a weekend getaway and to go to the spa, there are lots of things to do and it is very nice. http://www.pheasantrun.com/conferences/i... My roommate is going to be a counselor at a camp next week which is held at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center in Oregon, IL. http://www.lomc.org/ Not sure about whether they're open to outside events and not sure how modern it is, it may not be at all, but I thought I'd let you know since it sounds perfect otherwise. |
