I'm going to Chicgo for a couple weeks....? |
Travel Info what do you think I should visit? either in the city and around the city... could you recomend some places and/or websites to know what to see? Thaks a lot! Travel Tips start with the basics and don't wear yourself out... If you've got money, the signature room in the hancock tower is really cool... if not, go to the billy goat and order a cheezborger. (no, that's not a typo) if you are into financial-type stuff, the chicago merc exchange has a visitors center, with a really cool "pretend trading table" if you are into sports, catch a sox game (Go Sox!!!) if you are into art, go to the art museum Milennium park is really cool too, if you haven't been there before... enjoy, it's an awesome city Source(s): i live here! Other Travel Tips You should go to lunch on the 95th(i think) floor of the John Hancock Building. Make sure you go to Garretts popcorn(theres like 2 in the city) it is favorited by people like Oprah. The line is long but well worth the wait. The Sears Tower Skydeck is amazing if you go up there. Millenium Park is beautiful, they have music out there. They have this thing that i like to call"The Bean" im not sure what the real name of it is but it looks like a giant bean! Its located in Millenium Park. Also in Millenium Park they have these huge fountains that have pictures of faces on them and kids run and play in the water. Its a nice way to cool off. Another thing is Navy Pier.It has a hugeeee ferris wheel and many other things to do.You can take a boat cruise on the water and view the Skyscrapers from the boat. Theres different ones, so dont jump on the first one you see. Water Tower shopping center has like 5+ stories of shopping! Its amazing. You could always check out the science museum. Sorry i cant think of any more things at the moment! I'll add the Museum of Natural History. What to see in Chicago? If you are into museums, be sure to see the Art Institute on Michigan right downtown. You should also visit the museum campus south of the loop; there are the Adler, Field and Shedd all grouped together on the lake near Roosevelt Road. You can find out more on the Chicago museums at the link below. You...and everyone else should see the new Millennium Park on Michigan near the Art Institute.... For food and events, I'd recommend that you check out the Friday Chicago Tribune...they have special sections on events...as well as Metromix....just enter what kind of food you are into....Italian, Greek, etc....and the area....Loop, Near North, etc...and it will give you lists of where to go...trust their reviews.... enjoy Chicago...catch a Cubs or Sox game while you are here... Museums.... http://collaboratory.nunet.net/museums/p... Millennium Park http://www.millenniumpark.org/ For Metromix http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/dinin... -check out some theater in the theater district of downtown -I went on a ghost tour of chicago a few weeks back it was pretty cool and something different. -check out the museums (if you know peeps here have them get you a pass from the library with their card) -check out citysearch.com, metromix.com, clubplanet.com(if you want various club searches) -the usual navy pier, john hancock, sears tower, -take a tour of downtown on the double decker bus, the trolleys are free -don't forget chicagos home to jazz but if you check out the sites you should be okay and hate to say it after we have wasted our tax dollars on millineum park it is so not worth it, we have so many other spots (Grant park down the street) that have the same ish. it is pretty but not a biggie |
