Which hotel in chicago is better to stay at?

Travel Info
My husband and I are going to Chicago for a weekend in May, we have narrowed down five hotels on the tripadvisor.com website. Which one is best?
1)courtyard (marriot) downtown (is this hotel non-smoking?)
2)The Drake
3)Comfort Inn and Suites downtown
4)Radisson hotel
5)Swissotel
If you stayed at any of these before, please give me your input. Thanks.

Travel Tips
The Drake is good. A little snooty if that bothers you. The Swisshotel is great as well.
Although both are well located, the Drake has a better location just around the corner from the Mag Mile. Whereas the Swisshotel has better views of the lake and easier access to the Loop part of the city for State ST shopping, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, Michigan Ave shopping, and Theater. The Drake is almost a mile north of the Swisshotel. Both are close to the upscale restaurants of the Rush and Division area such as Tavern on Rush and Gibsons.

I would also recomend checking out www.metromix.com for any entertainment needs you have here. From shopping, to bars, to theather, and restaurantes, it's a Chicagoians best friend.

Others
If you are looking for luxury, the DRAKE and SWISSOTEL are the best. This is how I would rate these hotels from the best to the worst. 1. Drake
2. Swissotel
3. Radisson
4. Courtyard
5. Comfort Inn

rhw drake is the most elegant and I would pick it if I could afford it

The marriot is nice; more of a business hotel and not at all elegant

not been to the others but hear that Swisstel is very good
Can I maybe confuse you in your decission making. Have a look at http://www.unusedrooms.com/specials/city... and enter your dates in the search box. From there you can choose your accommodation from a street map of Chicago. It is very clear about price, location and facilities. I would have a look at the Travell Lodge while you are there. Hope this helps.
Another tip is wait till 3 weeks before your travel date and make a booking on the last minute hotel link. This is always a cheaper option, if price is a big motivating factor. from past experience you should save an aditional 5 to 10% off the already discounted prices at the above site.
