What is the best train line to take from Millenium Park to O'Hare in Chicago? HOW LONG IS THIS RIDE? |
Travel Info I'm taking the South Shore train from Indiana to Chicago in May. I want to get on the blue line and go to O'Hare. Just wondering what the best station is to get on from the Millenium Park train station to get on the blue line. Most importantly, I'm trying to gage how much time this will take, as this will affect when I leave home. Any help would be much appreciated, Chicago people! Travel Tips If you're at Millennium Park, you can walk from there to the blue line train. The nearest blue line train station is at Washington and Dearborn. When leaving the park, walk west on Washington for four blocks. the blue line train is underground. Since you're coming in May, the weather should be good enough to walk there. As far as how long it will take to get from downtown to O'Hare on the blue line, that kinda depends on what day you're taking it and what time. They're doing construction on the blue line and do most of the work in the off-peak (non-rush)hours, which also includes weekends. Normally the ride would be about an hour, but with the construction work, tack on an extra 30-40 minutes just to be safe. Oh, and the train cost $2 Others Jesse, I'm not sure this is the info you need but I found it at the link below: http://www.airwise.com/airports/us/ord/o... The Chicago Transit Authority runs a 24 hour service - the Blue Line - from downtown Chicago to O'Hare. Blue Line stations downtown include La Salle, Jackson, Monroe and Washington. The Orange Line from Midway Airport connects with the Blue Line at Clark/Lake station. http://www.airwise.com/airports/us/ord/o... The O'Hare CTA station is located on the lowest level of the Parking Garage in the main terminal area. Follow the signs for Terminals 1, 2 or 3. Passengers for Terminal 5 go to Terminal 3 and take the ATS transfer train to Terminal 5. Journey time from Downtown to O'Hare is around 45 minutes. Trains run every ten minutes during the day. Fare: $1.50. Get on the train on the corner of Randolph and Wabash. It may take around 30 - 45 minutes. Blue line - Washington stop - for $2.00. It will take about 45 minutes to get to the airport. Make sure you get on the O'Hare train. DUH! |
