What is the best way to get to Northwestern University from O'Hare airport? |
Travel Info I am going to be flying to O'Hare on a Thursday. I won't have a car and need to know the best way to get to Northwestern University by public transportation. Travel Tips Take the blue line into the city, transfer to the purple line and take it out to NW. See the map below in the link for a better idea. Source(s): http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/syste... Other Travel Tips I don't know...try googling it or mapquest it or something. Sorry Just get on the El - there is a station at O'Hare. The map in the station and on the trains is easy to follow. You will have to go into the loop then change for a train to Evanston. The stop for Northwestern is Foster. amtrak, bus, taxi it depends on where it is look it up on mapquest and see how far it is Take the BLUE LINE (EL train) from O'hare to downtown and get to Union Station to catch the Metra train to Evanston. Call CTA at 312-664-7200 or visit transitchicago.com Good luck!!! You could take the monorail/people mover train thing to the end of the line. There is a bus terminal there. Take the 250 bus. It goes into Evanston and the final stop is at the David Street el station. You can either get off and take the Purple line train a few more stops north or walk (the campus is not that far away once you get to downtown Evanston). But be forewarned: the 250 bus is a LOOOOONG ride. Or you could take the blue line train to Jefferson Park, get off and get on the No. 92 Foster bus to the Berwyn Red Line train station, take that train up to the end of the line (Howard). Get off and stay on the platform. Wait for the purple line train and ride it into Evanston. Again, a LOOOOOONG ride and lots of changes. Or you could take a cab. O'Hare is on the Northwest side of the city and Evanston is not really that far away. It may not cost that much since you're so close already. In fact, there may be a flat rate. Ask a few of the cabbies when you get there and find out how much they charge. If time is important to you, forget riding a train, getting off, waiting for another train, getting off, riding a bus, etc. Just get one cab and be done with it. |
