Travel Info something fun for a couple, cheep Travel Tips Well, there's a free dance show at the Chicago Cultural Center (feat. breakdancing, capoeira - a Brazilian fighting dance - voguing - that Madonna stuff - and human beatboxing, the stuff hip hop DJs used to do. There's also a free tour of the Chicago Cultural Center Buckingham fountain was turned on for the first time this season the other day so you can stop by at night at see the changing colors. Author Chuck Palahnuik, the guy who wrote the book Fight Club (the movie was based on it) is going to read from his new book at Borders, 830 n. michigan ave. at 7 p.m. It's free. The Black Rock Bar on Damen, is holding a free reading of poetry that is designed to involve, evoke or provoke some sort of violence. Should be wild. The swanky clubs "krem" and darkroom are free tonight. And the DJ duo Flosstradamus spins at Subterrean tonight at 9. It's five bucks. The Note has house music tonight and it's five bucks too. The Chicago Center for the Performing arts is hosting a "big fancy open mic" comedy show at 8:30. It's free at 777 N. Green street the IO Caberet near Wrigley Field is holding their regular Wednesday night free show, The Harold, at 8 p.m., and there the TJ and Dave show at the sme place later at 11 p.m.. It's five bucks. There's a free music show at the Beat Kitchen on West Belmont starting at 5:30. And a group called Los Bandoleros play at the Old Town School of Folk music at 8:30. That one's free too. the only things cheaper than all of that is staying at home. Have fun. Others Go to metromix.com and click on "best bets" for Wednesday. It'll give you all kinds of ideas, listed by cost. Well it will cost ya nothing to drive along Michigan Ave and/or Lake Shore Drive on Wed night..nighttime is nice because of all the lights. [hopefully there wouldnt be alot of traffic on a wed night.] Or some theatre?..maybe at one of the downtown theatres. You can get discounted tix at Hot Tix booths..if you want to go to a Wed night show, go to a H.T. booth Wed afternoon and see what they have.. Rock N' Roll McDonalds is fun [and cheap]..
