July 4th fireworks in Chicago? |
Travel Info When is the main fireworks event in Chicago - July 3rd evening or July 4th evening? Travel Tips Going for fireworks in a couple of difference venues will actually give you a great Chicago experience. The display at Taste of Chicago on the 3rd is a great chance to enjoy Grant Park and eat some great food from about 150 of the cities restaurants that all set up booths in the park. The food is a bit pricey, but if you make a lunch and evening of it, you can sample all sorts of restaurants, and then hang out at the lake for the fireworks. Then, the night of the 4th of July, the White Sox are playing and will have fireworks after the game at the new Comisky (I'll NEVER call it by that other name!). So, 2 nights of fireworks is better than 1, and you get to experience a lot of the REAL Chicago!! Source(s): School of Hard Knocks! Other Travel Tips In downtown Chicago, it is usually celebrated on the 3rd. this is from last year: http://egov.cityofchicago.org/city/webpo... http://www.vacationsmadeeasy.com/chicago... The city will hold their fireworks display on July 3. navy Pier will hold fireworks on July 4. Here is the navy Pier schedule... http://www.navypier.com/things2do/firewo... It's the 3rd. Navy Pier has fireworks on the 4th, which are nice but not quite as spectacular. |
