What is the NUMBER 1 reason to move to Chicago? |
Travel Info Tell me the best things in Chicago....brag about your city, tell me everything that's great. (Moving from Florida) Thanks! Travel Tips Man, that's a tought questions. There is no No. 1 thing. Too much great stuff goes on here to skip. I guess the fact that, as big cities go, it's pretty affordable. Great public transportation so it's easy and cheap to get around, housing costs haven't gone through the roof (yet); You can get a nice one bedroom here for about $800 a month - in NYC $800 a month might get you a rat infested studio. We]'ve got a beach, so you can bike ride, rollerblade or just lay on the sand and watch the hard bodies go by just like in Florida. And yeah, it gets cold and snows here, but what do you expect, it's the Midwest?Every ethnicity in the world lives here, so if you like samping world cuisine, you'll find it here. It has a team in every major sport if you're a sports nut. A FANTASTIC music scene; name the type of music and you'll find a bar that features it. And every major musical act HAS to come to Chicago to play. Also, a lot of bars stay open until 4 a.m. during the week and 5 am. on weekends. Great architecture, great parks, surprisingly clean for a city of it's size (again, compare it to NYC). Neighborhoods to fit every stage of your life: party-bar neighborhoods for the "frat" crowd, hipster neighborhoods for the indie band crowd, yuppie loft neighborhoods for the urban professional crowd, quiet residential streets for the newly married crowd, and homes for the starting-a-family crowd. Like I said, it's hard to name just ONE thing. Others Chicago has a very nice Skyline......... Well, I don't live in Chicago but I've been there before. They have a lot of nice places to visit. I really liked the aquarium. We went in November....and they weren't joking when they call it the "windy city"! Chicago pizza is great. You definitely got to try that! A better job with a higher salary? I don't live in Chicago but I hear its a great city for nightlife. The Chicago Cubs are there!!!! Oprah is there! If you like Blues music, I hear that is the place to live in. It gets very cold there! HOpe you like cold weather. Great malls for shopping!! the food The Hot Dogs, lol, I never lived there, but, once for fun we all jumped in the car and drove from Arkansas to get a Hot Dog, we had a blast! The deep dish pizza and hotdogs! The Taste of Chicago is a must go for you this summer! |
