Going to chicago and want to nkow any good spots around there....? |
Travel Info im going to Chicago in June for a competition and i wanted to know if there are any good spots near the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Help anyone? Travel Tips The Hyatt Regency (151 East Wacker, Wacker/Michigan) is in downtown Chicago on The Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue). It is near EVERYTHING. You will be within walking distance of most places of interest, but there's also plenty of cabs, buses, free trolleys to help you get around. From the Hyatt Regency, you are only minutes away from museums (Field Museum of Natural History, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Art Institute of Chicago). entertainment (Navy Pier, Rush Street), tourist attractions (Sears Tower, John Hancock building, Lake Michigan beaches, Chicago River boat tours, the Water Tower), shopping (Water Tower Place, Chicago Place and State Street.) and lots of restaurants and bars. When you're in Chicago be sure and try some Chicago pizza at Uno's or Due's and definitely get some gourmet popcorn at Garrett's popcorn (Oprah's favorite). I hope you enjoy your stay in Chicago. Others The chicago bulls basketball team Sears Tower? i dont know where that hotel is but things you have to see... 1. sears tower, go to the skydeck 2. buckingham fountain 3. shedd aquariam 4. adler planetarium 5. john hancock center all but number 2 have addmission fees Check out The Water Tower and go up stairs to get a pretzel and a big cup of lemonade. Trust me you won鈥檛 be disappointed. Also since the Taste of Chicago is coming up in June I definitely recommend you see it that is if you are going to be here around that time. Don't forget, Chicago is jumpin' from late May till early October every year. Mayor's office of Special Events(city hall) will give you a calendar of all the neighborhood festivals that take place every weekend for the period I mention above. Most of them are free to the public. If you like brainy college schools, do not forget to visit Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. next to Chicago and the U of Chicago in the Hype Park area of Chicago as well. Chicago has exotic restaurants centered on foods from around the world. You can collectively take bike rides up and down the lakefront as well. Enjoy! You must eat at Harry Carrys. Best food you will ever have and reasonable. After that you are right there in the theater district. Go see the play Spelling Bee. Great fun. Other than that there is so much to do in Chicago you wont be able to fit it all in. |
