Any good Indie places in downtown Chicago? |
Travel Info I wanna go to some sort of Indie club venue or something like that when I visit Chicago. I've heard a lot about the Bleeding Heart Bakery and I even tried their Lavender Lemonade at Lollapalooza (awesome!!) but what else other than that?? Travel Tips The Cobra Lounge on Ashland and Lake street, the Continental on California and Grand, Smart Bar on Clark street by Wrigley Field, Just about every bar in Wicker PArk, NEo's which is open until 4am,...... and my place! Im open all night with free drinks! Call me for a free tour!~ Others http://holiday.chicagoreader.com/music/e... I like the Metro, Fireside Bowl, and Schubas. http://www.schubas.com/ Get clothes at Ragstock on Belmont near Clark. Reckless Records is near there too. Not any indie type clubs downtown. You probably have to stick to places like Wicker Park/Bucktown, Logan Square, Ukranian Village. Places like Subterreanean, The Note, Exit, Empty Bottle, The Hideout, Schubas, Beat Kitchen, Tuman's and maybe The Metro/Smart Bar. A few of those places are kinda out of the way. But there are a lot of "indie" places around Chicago. Pick up a copy of Time Out Magazine at a news stand when you get here. They have a pretty good club listing section. Rock on! The Wicker Park area has a ton of bars, restaurants, etc. that fit what you are looking for. There are several vintage shops, record stores, used bookstores, and small bakeries/restaurants too. It's a beautiful neighborhood that I think you will enjoy. Live there. |
