What is particular in Chicago that you don鈥檛 get anywhere else? |
Travel Info If you have to say one thing to define your city, what would it be? Travel Tips There is no one thing. So much is world-class: The museums, the art scene, theater scene, the restaurants (high-end and casual). What's unique? We have beef stands in every neighborhood. I heard someone from Missouri ask what the heck a beef stand was. I was shocked and aghast. We have good pizza all throughout the city. No, we don't eat stuffed pizza on a regular basis, but the tourists like to give it a try when they visit. (If you ask me, the beef stands play a much greater role in our everyday lives.) I didn't realize how good our pizza was until I was subjected to some nasty stuff they called pizza in southern Illinois. Something else unique to Chicago? The particular diversity of our neighborhoods. I always find it unfortunate that our visitors often go only downtown, because Chicago is SO much more than that. Others There's type of food in Chicago that you can't get anywhere else...I think its a type of sandwich... i love chicago and i say its the chicago style pizza. hands down Beautiful buildings, amazing food (Chicago style hot dogs and pizza!), tons of shopping, great museums, historical city, tons of bars, great comedy shows. Just the sake of being in a crowded environment with such diverse people makes it a unique and learnable environment Wrigley Feild....Chicago style pizza.... The best shopping ever.... cool sky-scrapers.... wonderful bars Hmmm...Gino's East Pizza is supposed to be particular to here, though I'm more of a Dominoes kind of girl! Otherwise, just the sights and sounds, like any other place (Buckingham Fountain, Magnificent Mile, birthplace of the blues, etc) Good luck! Do you mean besides Wrigley Field, the cubs, the sox, the Hot-dawg, the bar scene, the interesting look of a clean new york and a oceanless miami, the diversity, the architecture, the parks, the restaurants from all over the world..... not much really. |
