What is the best place to stay near Michigan Avenue, but reasonable? Mid range hotel.? |
Travel Info We would like to be on a high floor, close to all the activities, but around a hundred a night or so. Travel Tips the Essex on Michigan Ave. Others It's going to be pretty tough to get a hotel downtown for 100 or so. Your best bet would be to go in the middle of the week as the weekends will be more expensive. Also check sites such hotels.com or travelocity. Also HOTWIRE.com and PRICELINE.com can get you deals HOWEVER you will not know the name of the hotel you are getting til you book the room...You will know the area and how many stars. But you can name your price so that is good. Congress Plaza Hotel was $129 on their website. That is about the cheapest you are going to find in the city. I stayed there last summer and thought it was nice. The outside looks sorta run down but I thought it was great for the price. http://congressplazahotel.com You'll be hard pressed to find a hotel for $100/night, but it depends on what's going on when you'll be here. Chicago's a big convention city so the hotels get really expensive when there's one in town. If you want to stay near Grant & Millennium Parks, your best bet would be either the Travelodge or Best Western.
