People who have never been here, usually from smaller cities, think that everywhere is dangerous, that crime is running rampant. True, our murder rate is pretty high, but those incidens are pretty much isolated in certain areas of the city (which, in many respects is unfortunate). But much more areas of the city are safe. People who live here know where to go and where not to go. And they make out just fine. Others Read The Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher. He has a totally different view of Chicago!
