We were going to go to brookfield zoo but it suppose to rain all weekend to where else can I take him?

Travel Tips
Go to Brookfield regardless---there's plenty to do "indoors" with exhibits...Plus they might have tons of cicadas emerging outside.

Midaevil times, Hollywood park in crestwood, the oak lawn park district has rock climbing see what your park district has, toyota park to see the 'fire'. Truthfully, they will have fun where ever you go so ask him what he wants. you could get pirate stuff, make them dress like pirates and look online for games. Tell us what part of chicago you live in, and is this for adults too, or just kids?
If you live near brookfield, how about Stella's in lyons, they have batting cages and games.
You could go to Navy Pier, which has the Children's Museum, an extensive food court, IMAX theater, and tons of shops and kiosks. If it's not raining there's a putting green, flying swings, and, of course, the Ferris wheel.

There's also Dave & Busters, which has tons of games. They've got those in the suburbs though, so ESPN Zone might be a better option.

The Museum of Science & Industry is fantastic for kids of all ages. Believe it or not, the Art Institute is actually a good choice for 7 year old boys! My son loved the miniature room and the armor/weapons exhibits (go figure, eh?). And of course, the Shedd Aquarium is fascinating.

If you have a Chicago public library card, check your local branch to see if you can check out any museum passes. Their passport program gets families into many of the sites for free. They can't hold them for you, but you can call ahead to see what they have.
