Where are all the Cicadas?

I live in northern illinois and they are sayin the cicadas are here they are here. i hve yet to see one.

I live in the Western suburbs, and they are everywhere here
I have yet to see one -- or hear one -- either. Kind of makes me wonder, because the media has made such a hoopla about it, and now.... Nothing.

I'm on the Northwest Side of Chicago but haven't noticed cicadas anywhere throughout downtown and the North Side.
I heard they are everywhere in the far western suburbs of Chicago but none in the city yet.....

They stay in the older towns. If you house is less than seventeen years old, it is less likely to find many cicadas. I myself haven't seen any (thank the lord) but you may find many if you go to an older park in Chicago.
