Surburbs?does everyone live there? |
Travel Info my friends claim everyone lives in the surburbs; is this true? i am young and would like to live near shops, cafe, etc. ya know. what your opinion? Travel Tips If you are young and want to live near shops and cafes, definitely get a place in the city. The suburbs are for old married people and families. Hot areas for young people (prices vary considerably): Lincoln Park Lakeview Andersonville Old Town St. Bens West Loop South Loop/Printers Row Bucktown Wicker Park Definitely stick with the city. There is so much more to do! Good luck. Others great place to live...train ride away from the downtown city!!! If you want to be near shops, bars etc, you probably want to live downtown..check craigslist on the net for apartments. If you can find an apartment very near shopping, food, banks etc, you dont need a car, ya can walk, bike or take the elevated train. Yes the burbs will not be exciting like the city things close early not as much to do if your young and active. the city, particularly lakeview, lincoln park, wicker park, gold coast young singles live in the city, not the suburbs. Families with kids live in the suburbs. But the fun city neighborhoods are expensive. But if you like the malls, then the suburbs may be better for you. The city is more lively and upbeat. More culture and things to do. There's all types of shopping (and dining) in the city, from thrift stores and flea markets to big box stores to ultra-exclusive European designer boutiques. The city has all kinds of free festivals in the summer. Check out North Michigan Avenue, also known as the Magnificent Mile. |
