Travel Info Any problems getting train tickets at Michigan city for a weekend getaway? Whats the easiest station to deal with in Michigan City coming from Holland , Mi.? Thanks Travel Tips You will be taking the South Shore Line...not Amtrak or Metra which terminate at Union Station or Ogilvie Trans. Center. The Michigan City station is at 11th ST. The Silversmith hotel is about midway between the Van Buren ST station and the Randolph St station....about 5 blocks...5/8 mile...not a long walk. Below is the route from the Randolph St station: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.... Others You're on the other side of Lake Michigan. I'd check with Amtrak at www.amtrak.com or you can look for buses at www.greyhound.com, but you're way too far to take a cab or walk. Once you get to the train station in Chicago (Union Station or Ogilvie) you should just take a taxi to the hotel. |
