What should my gf and I pack for Chicago? |
Travel Info We are from California and we are headed to Chicago on Thursday. How has the weather been? Can anyone please give a specific answer as to what clothes I should pack? What about my girlfriend? ....also.....can anyone give a recommendation as to the proper attire for going to the signature room?? Travel Tips pack for cool weather it only gonig to be oin the 70,s for the weekend with severe weather on thursday but in the 90's Others Thurs will be very hot and windy. Fri & Sat look like Spring again.... Thurs High: 90掳Low: 70掳 Fri High: 75掳Low: 55掳 Sat High: 76掳Low: 60掳 These numbers have been forecast for the past few days with no drastic changes. A sportcoat & tie for you and a summer dress for her will not be out of place at the Signature Room. You will enjoy the moment, location, wine, food and view as you dine by candlelight. Afternoons are less formal, but forget the T-shirt and cutoffs. Save those for Navy Pier. Please bring a variety. Some days are cold some days are hot. bring at least one pair of pants, and a jacket. The weather here changes very quickly. You need a little of every thing. 1 long pants, 1 jacket or 1 long sleeve. The weather is very tricky here. Last week we had all 80 near 90's and were HOT. Today and yesterday was cold. So who knows??? Pack for Warm weather,cool nights ,Chicago proper or suburbs.?? Never heard of the Signature roon ...sorry .. Pack for warm and cool..if you don't care for the weather,don't worry ,it WILL change..I lived there 30 years,,ex-wife lived there longer and is now in Palm Springs CA.. The weather has been up and down recently (It's Chicago, go figure). So, I'd probably bring a light jacket or sweater, a rain jacket and/or umbrella, shorts (in case it gets really warm), gym shoes for walking. Maybe even a pair of swim trunks in case it gets reallly warm and you want to lie on Oak Street beach or something. In fact, it's supposed to be NINETY on Thursday, but I'll believe it when I see it :) As far as dressing for the Signature Room, it depends. If you're going for dinner in the restaurant part, bring a suit. If you're just going to sit in the bar part, you can dress casually. I've seen people in shorts up there, but maybe I'd dress a little more "presentably", like long pants and a nice shirt. If you are packing for Chicago, pack your Glock 9mm I'd definitely just check www.weather.com - our weather has been pretty crazy and unpredictable lately. in general, it has been warm with a mix of sun and thunderstorms. the best way to go with clothes is to layer. you won't need a heavy coat - or at least nothing more than a spring jacket. i'd pack casual stuff for during the day- like jeans, t-shirts, and maybe take a long a light jacket, sweater, hoodie, etc. it can be really warm during the day and drop in a few hours, so it's best to be prepared. i'd also pack beach clothes - swimsuits, towels, sunscreen - if you think you might spend the day at the beach. or, you can skip the beachwear and go to the lakefront for a walk, bikeride, or bite to eat at Castaways. the signature room is a great spot to go! you'll definitely want to wear something formal, particularly if you're going for dinner. you definitely won't want to feel underdressed. i would say a dress or black pants/nice shirt for your girlfriend and for you the equivalent. have a great trip! |
