Best way to travel with money?

Travel Tips
I would say very carefully.

You need to be more specific.
in a wallet
a private jet?
Depends on where you are going.

Usually a money belt is enough.

But - If you're going into an area where pick pockets are known to be active, take everything out of your pockets and carry a
day pack, in front of you.

If you are going to an area where street theft (somebody holding a gun to your head)
is known, then carry a fake wallet with some cash and some outdated credit cards.

Regardless, where you are, don't carry a lot of cash.

Some people recommend carrying a lot of change and singles. When confronted, throw these up in the air and while the robber is going for the cash, run like hell.

It is best not to travel into places where people are looking at you like you are their next meal ticket. If you see that, turn around and run back, get into a cab or a bus as quick as you can.
Keep your cash limited. Almost everywhere, even internationally, banks have ATM machines that connect to your account. Withdraw it at local bank's ATM's as you need it. At the American Express office, American Express cards allow you to write checks on your own account up to $1,000 American dollars per week on a green card and more on a gold, assuming you have the money in your account. AmEx is good if you lose your card. You can get it replaced at any office, even internationally. Travelers checks also work... if you are talking about normal travel. If you want to take a suitcase full of money somewhere, be sure it is a carry-on. Use a money belt. Use your credit cards whenever you can, but getting a cash advance on your credit card can be expensive. Consider that the last choice.
I travel extensively.
