Chicago is getting very expensive, no parking ,cab rates have gone up, resturaunt prices have gone up

unless you just want to wast money stay out of chicago

You may want to purchase in St. Louis if they have the same stores as Chicago. But save some cash - there's a number of specialty stores in Chicago.

Enjoy our city :)

If your worried about the possible 1% diff. then yes, go to St. Louis..but comparing the 2 cities - go the Chi-town..its much more fun..
There is a whole lot more to Chicago than shopping (and if you do go shopping, there is a whole lot more -- and more interesting shopping -- available in areas other than the Mag Mile).

If you only care about shopping the typical designers and big-name shops, then go to St. Louis. If you want to browse some unique shops or even expand the theme of your trip beyond shopping (and it would be well worth it to do so), then come to Chicago.
chicago all the way
tax wont be that much of an issue to you
