Info on Chicago fireworks? |
Travel Info Apparently, Chicago has 4th of July fireworks twice - on the 3rd, which is the main show, and then on the 4th, which is a display from Navy Pier. My question: which of these shows, if either, can be seen well from Promontory Point in Hyde Park?? Travel Tips Not really a good vantage point. Too far away. You could probably see it but it won't be nearly as impressive. You could try to go to the far end of the area around the Adler Planetarium, but that might start getting crowded very early on the 4th. About the furthest south I would go is the area behind McCormick Place or the new land near Soldier Field. Others Actually there are fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday night from Navy Pier. You could go to Promontory Point and see how it looks before the 4th of July show. The reason that Chicago has the big fireworks show on the 3rd is because the 4th is a holiday and fewer people have to go to work on the 4th and can stay late to see the show the night before. Navy Pier has fireworks on Weds. and Sats. @ 9pm I don't thing you can see them from that far south. you may be able to get a glimpse, but certinly not enough to really enjoy them. |
