When is the best time to go to 6 flags gurnee? |
Travel Info I want to go to 6 flags but only when there is like no lines. when is the best time to go. its in gurnee so it can be hot or chilly. weather isnt an issue unless rides will be shut down Travel Tips The slowest day at the park is usually on Wednesdays. Most people go for long weekends like thur - sun or sat - tues so the very middle of the week is the most uncrowded that you will find. Also if you hit a day that is a bit cooler - many people don't go especially if there is a chance of showers in the forecast. For some reason people will change their plans if it might rain even though you get soaking wet on the water rides!! Go figure! Also the middle of the day is busiest so if you go in the early evening a majority of people leave the park by 4 or 5 so it gets almost deserted sometimes. Hope this helps. Others Your chances are better doing so during the work week as most parents will be at work and won't be able to take their kids to Six Flags as compared to weekends. Now that it is summertime there will be more people coming to the park every day....right now it might not be so bad as there are some that are still in school but if the weather stays hot for an extended amount of time....the park may get crowded quickly. So my advice is to try to get there in the next few weeks. Additionally if you are willing to pay the extra money, there is something called the Flash Pass....I have never used this service so I am not quite sure how this works but I think its similar to a beeper you get at a restaurant...when your time comes up you get a beep on the pass and you can go ride that particular ride. http://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/... (click on offers at the top of the screen) as soon as it opens at like 10 or 11am Go during the week...tuesday, wednesday or thursday. My sister麓s family lives close to Gurnee, so we would go during the week-M-F are the best times. A lot of times, we would go on a ride, get off, and get right back in line, only to have to wait a couple minutes to get back on the ride again-it is AWESOME! The water park is sometimes closed, and this isn麓t normally due to weather, but instead, to someone getting hurt. We have witnessed a lot of ambulances there, and my sister doesn麓t take her kids to that part of the park. I love 6 Flags, and really miss it since I live now in Germany. Oh, one other suggestion if you want to save money. You can bring food into the park, but no glass containers. Buy the souvenier cup there for drinks, but save money by bringing your own snacks and peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches for the kids. My sister has 4 kids, and they do this-they have season passes so the kids are entertained and the parents save $. |
